Sicilian Moorish Head Pair – Hand-Painted Ceramic, 14 cm

Bring a little Sicily into your home with this pair of hand-painted ceramic Moorish heads, traditionally known as Teste di Moro. Ornate crowns, floral details and a rich combination of turquoise, burgundy, golden yellow and deep blue give these small decorative pieces their distinctive character.

At 14 cm (5.51 inches) tall, they add a colorful accent to a bookshelf, console table, mantel or bedside table without taking up much space.

HAND-DECORATED IN SICILY

Our pieces begin with ceramic bisque from Caltagirone and are hand-decorated and kiln-fired in our workshop in Augusta, Sicily. Their glossy finish highlights the detailed brushwork and sculpted crowns.

This pair features a female head with an ivory-colored face and a male head with a black glazed face, each framed by richly decorated headwear.

If used as a planter, use an inner nursery pot: these pieces have no drainage holes. Do not plant directly into the ceramic, and remove the inner pot for watering.

CARE

Wipe gently with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and protect the crowns and raised details from knocks.
